Concert
Nothing rises but it trembles.
Darkness found me on my knees.
Birdsong tinged the trembling light—
calling those who know.
A buzz around the arbor host,
sweet thieves seek golding reward,
awakening the blossom.
The eagle compassed by the winds,
lifts salmon from its current struggle.
And rooted peaks wring misty seas,
their tears seed fertile valleys.
She shows her gleaming face sometimes,
a silver call for seas to stand.
All in the sky and the earth chant an ode
to the endless love in awe.
Nothing rises but it humbles.
All wings must fold, all heads must bow,
all waves must break at shore.
I found Beauty between my head and the ground,
as I whispered: “Are you pleased with me?”
